Blast from the Past

The cruise we are taking this July begins in Rome, Italy.  We arrive at 'The Beehive' which is an upscale hostile about a 5 minute walk to the Termini Train Station right in the heart of chaotic Roma, as the Italians call it.  We will take a train from the airport to the Beehive.  We have reservations there for a room for two rather than a dorm for 8 people (men and women).  We will drop our bags.  Secure our passport....before we leave....REALLY important.....(as I was robbed almost 5 years ago now in Rome and lost everything including my passport) and head to the Borghese Museum in Rome.  We have already booked our tickets for there as you need reservations to get into many of the European museums.  They only let so many people in at one time to protect the art works from humidity and such stuff.  We will enjoy a nice dinner in Rome that evening and turn in early....as jet lag will kick us in the a*#, shortly there after.
The day of the cruise we always take a train.  Costs about $20 per person for one way.  The port of Rome is in a small village called Civitavecchia.  About an hour and a half from Rome.  If you are planning a cruise, do the train.  Taxi and shuttles charge $100-$300 to take you to the Port.  Not necessary.
Save your Euros for ceramics or Italian wine....if you like.
Enjoy the pictures from some of our previous trips to Italy and Greece.
