Katacolon, Greece Part 3


Krypti is the 100 foot long tunnel entrance into the stadium.  (To the track that is still visible).


45,000 spectators capacity.  Only one woman was allowed in.  She was the Priestess of the Goddess Demeter Chamyne.  



The Altar of Hera is the humble site of the torch lighting for the summer and winter Olympics since 1936. 


Phillippeion was built to mark Philip of Macedon triumph over Greece. The Hellenistic era.  He was the father of Alexander the Great.
